Sussex Earns 4 Teams for All Academic Honors

The NJCAA has announced the 2022-23 Academic Teams of the Year.  NJCAA student-athletes continued to excel in the classroom as 1,078 teams earned at least a 3.0 GPA or better.

30 programs from across the country earned NJCAA Academic Team of the Year honors after achieving the highest GPA in their respective sport throughout the academic year.  Sussex County Community College had four teams named for the 2022-2023 year, with all teams qualifying for postseason play.

The Sussex softball program earned a team GPA of 3.12 and qualified for the NJCAA Region XIX playoffs, while women's basketball earned a team GPA of 3.42 after qualifying for the Region XIX Tournament as well.

The wrestling program earned a team GPA of 3.32 and had 5 wrestlers qualify to compete in the National Tournament held in Iowa Bluffs, Iowa this past past.  And women's soccer achieved a team GPA of 3.56 while winning the Region XIX Tournament before being eliminated in the District Final.
