SCCC 2018 Baseball Season Preview

The Sussex Baseball Team will open up the 2018 season on Saturday, February 24th, at Borough of Manahattan CC for a doubleheader starting at noon. The roster features 11 sophomores from a team that went 15-24 a season ago with 11 one run loses in 2017; with that experience from last year, we look for the sophomores to be battle tested and help the incoming class to contribute right away. Our outlook for this season is to reach the Region 19 playoffs and make some noise in the tournament. We will need to stay healthy and have our players step up each and every game to do so. We have the experience and players who have worked extremely hard for this upcoming season and continue to show the drive during practices, which we will need to make the playoffs. Returning Sophomores include; Trevor Risdon (High Point), Sean Kelemen (West Milford), Tyler Goff (Chatfield), Anthony Carida (Hackettstown), Wataru Kazama (Toyko), Mongeon Kim (Osaka), Cole VanLuvender (Newton), Bobby Fehr (Newton), Dalton DelRosso (Hopatcong), Shaun Rittweger (High Point), Chris Miller (West Milford), Johnny Franco (Transfer*Hackettstown), Nathan King (Transfer* Myrtle Beach). Incoming freshman would include; Nicolas Dore (Quebec), Jean Lagreca (Caracas), Aldo Vallorosi (Newton), Derek Sarapuchiello (High Point), Edgardo Matute (San Pedro Sula), Gustavo Souza (Brazil), Matt Douma (High Point), Nicholas Grifone (Vernon), Anthony Melillo (Hopatcong), Matthew Bell (Vernon).
