Sussex Sweeps Monroe, Souza CG win GM1 and Douma walkoff hit in GM2

Sussex baseball had it's home opener against Monroe College JV and came away with two victories. In game one, offense and pitching was the story as Gustavo Souza pitched 7 complete innings in the victory, only allowing 2 hits all game, and allowing 1 unearned run. Offensively, Sussex had 9 hits, 8 walks, and 4 stolen bases to tally 13 runs for the game. Aldo Vallorosi (2-4 1run, 1RBI) and Matt Douma (3-4 2 runs, 1 RBI, SB) led the charge with multiple hits as Sussex won 13-1.

In Game 2, Sussex won on a walk off hit by Matt Douma in the last inning to give the Skylanders a come from behind win. Sean Kelemen got the win in relief going 3.1 innings and striking out 5 batters. Sussex won the game 8-7 in exciting fashion.
