Sussex Loses to PSU in Home Opener

The SCCC men's basketball team opened their season last night in the Skylander gym vs PSU Worthington-Scranton losing a tight contest 78-71.  Frankie Rios (Newton HS) led the Skylanders with 30 points and helped bring the team back from a 18 point first half deficit to send the teams into the locker room at the half deadlocked at 35 apiece.  PSU came out strong in the second half and took the lead early.  Unfortunately, Sussex were unable to overtake PSU in what was an exciting second half. Samir Wheeler (Newton) chipped in with 15 points and Shaekwon Grant-Wheeler (East Stroudsburg North) contributed 9 points for SCCC.  The men are back in action tomorrow, Sat, 11/11, at home against Atlantic Cape CC.
