SCCC Tops Middlesex in OT

The Sussex CCC men's basketball team picked up their first win of the season last night defeating Middlesex CC 86-84 in overtime. Frankie Rios hit the game tying three pointer with five seconds remaining in regulation to force overtime, and then the game winning lay up to seal the win with 6 seconds remaining in OT. Sussex was able to take the lead early in the overtime and hold on for the win with clutch shots coming from Frankie Rios and Samir Wheeler. Rios led Sussex with 34 points, 11 rebounds, and 10 assists putting together his first triple double of the season. Samir Wheeler had a strong performance with 24 points while Derrick Montgomery and Shaekwon Grant-Wheeler each added 10 points. Next up, Sussex travels to Luzerne for their first road game of the season.
