Sussex Defeats Bergen in OT

The Sussex men's basketball team defeated Bergen CC 93-92 in overtime last night.  Sussex started the second half behind by 18 points as Bergen applied smothering pressure throughout the 1^st half.  Sussex was able to chip away at the score, eventually tieing the game with 3 minutes remaining in regulation.   In the OT, the Bergen Bulldogs went up 2 points with 2 minutes to play and it looked like the Skylanders were running out of gas.  However, Samir Wheeler hit two clutch free throws to tie the game and then Frankie Rios hit a 3 point basket  to put the Skylanders up 3 with a minute remaining. Bergen then scored a 3 point play to tie it again with 14 seconds to play. After, Bergen hit one of two free throws to go up 92-91 leaving the door open just a crack for the Skylanders to possibly steal a win here.  After a timeout, the Skylanders brought the ball up court and worked it around the perimeter to Frankie Rios in the corner, who drove baseline and put Sussex up by 1 with 3 seconds to play.  Sussex then intercepted the next inbounds pass to seal the victory 93-92.    Congratulations to Coach Jackson and the entire men's squad on an unbelievable win!!
