Samir Wheeler Breaks College Record in Season Opener

In Sussex County Community College's season opener against Rowan College at Gloucester the Skylanders got off to a slow start with a 25-2 deficit. However, the Skylanders would not stay silent for long as they rallied back behind the great play of sophomores Nazir Britt who finished with 9pts and Samir Wheeler who finished with a game high of 26pts, 7 Rebounds, and went 20-21 from the charity stripe, which also breaks the college's record for most free throws made by a player in a single game.  Also contributing was freshman George Mendez with 18pts on a 3 for 3 shooting night from deep and Ben Melville was crucial in coming off the bench and contributing with 12pt going 50% from the field. In the end RCGC won the contest 105-72. The Skylanders will have their home opener on Saturday November 17th at 3pm and will be hosting Harrisburg Area County College.
