The Sussex County Skylanders Men's Basketball team defeated the Rowan Cumberland Dukes by a score of 102-93 Saturday afternoon. After 40 minutes the game was tied at 85. In the overtime session, Sussex outscored Rowan Cumberland 17-8. The win was a team effort with 5 players scoring in double figures. Jalil Golden led the Skylanders with 19 points. David Forzani had 18 points, 6 assists, and 4 steals in a strong game. Nate Akilu contributed 18 points and 10 rebounds. PJ Ross had 18 points, 8 rebounds, and 3 steals. Cornelius Reed tossed in a career high 16 points coming off the bench. Jaheem Ray played significant minutes at guard and he contributed strongly with rebounds. Christian Archer contributed 8 points and 8 rebounds to the win. Keenan Iseli and Ryan Gordon came off the bench to contribute minutes to the team win.
With the win, the Skylanders improve to 6-4 on the year. The Skylanders play the final game before the winter break on Tuesday at 7:00 p.m. when they host Passaic County Community College.
