Sussex Men Beat Ocean 2-1

The Sussex Men's Soccer team keeps climbing the standings with another great win against a tough Region opponent. Coming out to start the game, Sussex would get on the board first from Adrian Sanchez. It was a game that would have huge momentum swings for both teams. Ocean would have its opportunities before the half would come to an end and finally put an equalizer in the back of the net. With the score tied 1-1, Coach Vernacchio said at halftime, "stick to the game plan, another goal is coming." We were able to have a lot of success in the wide areas in the first half. Another goal would certainly come for the Skylanders with only 9 minutes left in the game. Alessandro Filetti would find the back of the net, giving the Skylanders another big victory. Coach Vernacchio said, "All the games are so important, but even more so are the region ones. Ocean has a great team and for us to capitalize on our opportunity when we had the chance is something this team has continued to do well at. I am proud of the boys and how they keep growing. Winning is obviously great, but our growth as a team continues to impress me. We have a long ways to go yet, but I am excited to see what level we will be at come late October." 

The Skylanders will travel to Ulster County Community College Tuesday, October 1st. Kick off will take place at 4:00 PM.
