Softball grabs two wins from NASSAU CC

On 4/24, the Lady Skylanders took the trip to NASSAU CC and brought back 2 wins to add to their season. In game 1 for the team, they spread their 10 runs across a solid 5 iinnings. Offense was just warming up as they contiinued to rally togther to bring the final of game 1 to 10-2. Kathryn Szatkiewicz went 2 for 3 with a deep triple to left field. She also added 1 RBI and 3 runs across the plate herself. Heather Sutton went 2 for 4 along with Amanda Ross also going 2 for 4. Ross also added 2 RBI's. Rebecca Riley was 2 for 4 with 2 RBI's and Amanda Maxwell was also 2/4 with 2 runs and 2 RBI's. Rebecca Riley took game 1 win going 8-8 on the year. She allowed just 2 runs with 5 strikeouts. 

In Game 2, Sussex continued to rally the bats as they kept pushing eachother to do better every inning. Sussex opened the first inning with 1 run across the plate but then ripped open the second inning pushing 11 runs across. The team fought every inning like it was their last to expand their game 2 win to 18-2. Rebecca Riley started on the mound and then Brianne Willis came in to relief. Peyton Smith closed out the last inning in the circle. All 3 pitchers collected only 5 hits, 2 runs and 8 strikeouts for their team. Madison Stires, Heather Sutton and Kathryn Szatkiewicz all went 3 for 4 in game 2. Szatkiewicz had 3 RBI's and Stires crossed the plate 3 times to help her team. Amanda Maxwell was 4 for 5 with 3 RBI's. Rebecca Riley was 1/2 with an impressive 4 RBI's.
