Sussex Sophomores Sweep DH vs. Ocean CC

The Sussex Softball Family swept Ocean CC in a home double header yesterday afternoon. Prior to the 14-0 and 8-0 games, the underclassmen rallied together to show appreciation towards the sophomores with gifts, decorations and tremendous amounts of support. We honored Nicole Matlock, Taylor Thieme, Brianne Willis, Kathryn Szatkiewicz, Rebecca Riley, Peyton Smith and Amanda Maxwell. 

Our sophomores are comprised of some of the most talented and thoughful student-athletes on our campus. They are extremely hard workers on the field and in each of their classrooms. They volunteer their time and efforts around our campus and in our community. 

Their stats from the past 2 years show more than words can describe. Together they have boosted our program to a new high of standards and records. In the past 2 years, out of 50 games, they have combinded to a total of 250 earned hits, 175 runs, and 142 RBI's. 

They are not about to stop here, as we will continue our season into the region 19 playoff tournament next week. This is the first earned apperance the lady skylanders softball team has had in playoffs since 2011. They will continue to keep their season alive....together.
