Armstrong signs on for 2023 Sussex Softball

Wallkill Valley's leading catcher, Natalie Armstrong, signs on for the 2023 Sussex Softball team. Armstrong comes to SCCC from being a three sport athlete at WV (Softball, Field Hockey, and Basketball). Coming in as a Catcher and true Utility player, Sussex is looking to help grow her leadership behind the plate. Natalie mentioned, "I chose Sussex because I felt that it was the best choice to further both my academic and athletic career." Natalie also says that she is looking forward to making new friends/teammates and memories and improving her skills as a college softball player.

Natalie is majoring in Biology with the intent to graduate from SCCC and then move on to her Bachelor's degree in Pre-Veterinary/Animal Science to become a large animal vet. Her honor in high school went far beyond her athletic career and followed her into her academics. She is in the English and French National Honor Society. When asked about Armstrong joining the team, Coach Borger states, "Natalie has been in our sights for a few years and a few reasons. Her leadership skills stand out, but she truly is a team player. Catching in college softball takes strong character, almost one that doesn't break under pressure and can mold what the team needs. Natalie is that. I've witnessed her bring a group together with a simple high-five. She's authentic and hardworking in everything she does. Sussex Softball is excited to help her achieve growth in her academics and athletics."
