Emily Kinkead Signs on for 22-23 Sussex

Sussex Softball would like to officially welcome Sussex Tech graduate Emily Kinkead. Emily is coming from Sussex Tech as a three-sport athlete (Softball, Basketball, and Tennis) and was on the All-Academic teams achieving high honors, National Honor Society, and National Technical Honors Society. Emily will be majoring in SCCC's Optical Technology program. Her main goal is to become an optical scientist at Picatinny Arsenal in New Jersey. Emily states, "My brother went to SCCC, and he said it was a great school to go to. I also knew girls who played softball for Coach Jamie, and I wanted to do the same." She also mentions, "I am looking forward to meeting new people and continuing my favorite sport."

Head Coach Jamie Borger states, "Bringing Emily onto the 2023 team was a no-brainer. She is the type of student-athlete that every coach wants and needs. She has been a stellar center fielder for the Mustangs, and we are excited to bring her technical gameplay to the college level for the Skylanders." Assistant coach, Amanda Maxwell, saw a strong foundation of character and leadership in her presence on and off the softball field, which will help take our program to the next level and support Emily. At the same time, she will have the opportunity to achieve her college academic and athletic dreams.

Welcome to the Sussex Softball Family, Emily!
