Mackenzie Shea Joins Sussex Softball 22-23

Sussex Softball would like to announce the commitment of Kittatinny graduate Mackenzie Shea to the 2023 Sussex Softball team. Previouisly, Shea played softball, basketball, was a part of the interact club and the Bellidies (all girls choir) for the Kittatinny Cougars. Shea officially committed after the Sussex All-Star game that was held on SCCC Softball Field. She said, "I chose Sussex because it's close to home and I felt that it was the best place for me to further my athletic and academic career". 

Mackenzie will be a primary outfielder for the skylanders this season and a force on the bases with her speed. Outside of her athletic ability she will be majoring in Exercise Science with the goal of working towards a DPT (Doctor of Physical Theraphy). She says, "I am looking foward to continuing the sport I love and meeting new people". Coach Borger states, "We are excited to give Mackenzie the collegiate athletic and academic opprotunity that will help her thirve. Her speed, postitive outlook and willingness to grow is going to bring success to her teammates and herself. Shea is the type of athlete that will hold the standard and push the competition...something we have been looking to do in this program for a while".
