Mehmedi Commits to 2025 DII Sussex Softball

Sussex Softball is pleased to announce the commitment of Makayla Mehmedi of Wallkill Valley Regional High School. A standout athlete on the field for the Rangers, Mehmedi has been a force as the starting shortstop since her freshman year. She is a repeating NJAC award winner and a leader in her team's lineup. She's consistently held a spot in the lineup as a powerhouse hitter with a slugging percentage of .535%.

Mehmedi states," I decided to attend SCCC  because I had a great opportunity to be close to home while playing D2 softball and work towards my career. I want to obtain my Associate Degree in Health Science and, from there, get accepted into a Sonography/ultrasound program. I'm looking forward to playing with other talented individuals, and I'm happy to be a Skylander!"

Coach Borger says about Mehmedi, "I am thrilled to see Makayla continue her career here with us. She has the leadership capabilities this program seeks at the DII level. Her motivation to be better and push her teammates to be better is collegiate leadership material. She has the skill, the drive, and the characteristics to make noise in the Region. I'm excited to work with her as she continues academics and athletics."

Welcome Home, Makayla!
