Sussex WBB Season Begins

The Sussex Women's Basketball team dropped their season opener on Sat. Nov. 9th at RCSJ Gloucester - 44-78.

Despite the loss, Coach Gaffney, Coach Bartell and the women had a few things to be proud of. Returning First Team All-Region and All-Conference Player, Alyssa Aragona is off to a hot start. She opened her sophomore season with 28 points and 11 rebounds. Miranda Hnyda also contributed a double-double, with 12 points and 11 boards. The team put up stats all-around; noticebly: Jeyleen Joaquin contributed 6 assists, Sydney Tantleff drew 4 charges, Lana Varcadipane had 3 blocks. Madison Mailloux, in her Freshman debut, had 5 rebounds and 3 points. 

The team hopes to learn and build from the loss, and looks for a better outcome in thier two home games this coming week. They also expect to see a full and healthy roster at Thursday's game, with point guard Phoebe H. Livingston and newcomers Marissa Kepnes and Kristen Burse added to the line-up.

The Women play in the SCCC gym at 5 p.m. on Thursday (11/14) vs. Luzerne Community College and at 12 p.m. on Saturday (11/16) vs. Ocean Community College. Come cheer the women on to get their first win!
