Sussex Wrestling Competes at Keystone

Sussex Wrestling competed at Keystone today against Rowan College and Keystone. Freshman Spencer Stewart continued to look impressive picking up a fall in the second period against Rowan and a fall in the first against Keystone. Sophomore Taylan Zafis went 1-1  for the day winning a tough match against Rowan. Down 3-1 in the second Taylan pushed the pace and picked up an 8-3 win in the third. Sophomore Aaron Anane-Agyei wrestled in two exhibition matches and went 1-1 for the day. Picking up a come from behind fall in his first match before falling in his second match. Coach Burdge has this to say" I think a lot of these teams see our small roster size and expect us to just roll over for them. Then they step on the mat with us and see we came to wrestle. I like coming in as an underdog and proving them wrong. We're looking to continue to grow and add more wrestlers to the table this year with a couple coming back from injuries and other things. We continue to get better each and every day in the room and I'm looking forward to where our guys go this year." Sussex will be back on the mat December 5th for the Bob Quade open.
