ASA Defeats Sussex in Districts

The women's soccer team ended their season on Saturday playing in the NJCAA District E Tournament and losing to ASA College 5-1.  ASA College went on to win the Tournament on Sunday beating Monroe CC Rochester, NY 3-1.  Gabby Sarni (Kittatinny) scored the only goal for Sussex, assisted by Maddi Ollington (Rotorua, NWZ).  This was the third consecutive year that the women's soccer team reached districts.  Head coach Frank Vernacchio was pleased overall with the season stating, "We have made progress each year in this tournament, and while we are a little disappointed that our season is over, we are happy overall with the progress we have made over this season.  I want to thank our sophomores for setting a great example for our freshman and really helping us establish our culture that we have been working on the last couple of years. We have a very young team that we are excited to build with for next season, and our goal is to win this district and go to nationals next year.  With the talent that we have returning, there's no doubt in my mind that we will be back here next year."
