Fricke Commits to Sussex

Lea Fricke, from Biesdorf, Germany has committed to the Sussex women's soccer program by signing her NJCAA Letter of Intent to play for the 2018 season.  Fricke is a talented and hard working center midfield player, who can play both offensive and defensive roles.  With good technical ability and creative vision, Lea can add to Sussex's attack, while also working hard to keep the defensive stability needed to succeed at the NJCAA Division I level.  Lea has also been instrumental in several championship teams for both FC Bitburg and TuS Issel over the last couple of years.

The women's soccer coaching staff at Sussex are delighted to have Lea join the program, and assistant coach Mike Rath had the following praise:  "Lea is a very good player.  We have been talking to her for quite a while, and we were very impressed with her technical ability, as well as her competitve mindset.  She has all of the right skills and character to really flourish here at Sussex and take her game to the next level.  We are extremely happy to have her as a part of our family and program."

Lea will be enrolling into the A.S. Exercise Science degree while at Sussex, and will look to study Health Sciences when she transfers to a four year university.  Her plan is to practice medicine back in Germany when she completes her studies in the United States.
