Thöne joins the Sussex Soccer Family

Charleen Thöne of Germany has signed her Letter of Intent and will be joining the women's soccer team this upcoming fall. Thöne, who can play in a variety of positions, will add to a very gifted freshmen class. Coach Vernacchio is excited about the new addition and says, "What stuck out to me the most about Charleen was her work ethic. This is certainly a quality we look for in all of our recruits, but some have it even more then others. Charleen possesses a different type of determination that is very evident in her play. I am very excited to work with her and am very proud that she will be a part of our family here at Sussex." Coach Vernacchio was asked later what he thought about this year's recruiting class and he said "Our region is only getting stronger and that truly is exciting. With our returners and this year's recruiting class, I am confident we can compete with anyone. We have a strong foundation and each year the freshmen class has to be the core for the following year. We have truly been blessed to have that core increase in talent, character, and work ethic each year. Charleen and the rest of this year's recruiting class are certainly special and I can't wait for August when we are able to put it all together."
