Gunderman Commits to Sussex

Madison Gunderman, from Wallkill Valley Regional High School, has committed to play for the women's soccer program come fall 2021. Gunderman, who is a four year varsity starter for the Rangers, achieved quite a bit at Wallkill during her time there. She was selected to the First Team All-Conference NJAC Colonial, varsity team captain, and selected to the All NJAC White North Second team.

Coach Vernacchio is excited with the new addition to the program stating, "I was fortunate to coach Madison when she was very little. It was great to see that the same grit and determination she would play with back then stayed with her throughout the years. Madison possesses great leadership qualities that I think will also serve her well during her time with us. I think she will certainly add to the quality of our defense, but more importantly I believe she will also have a great impact on our culture as a program."

When Madison was asked what she is most looking forward to, she stated, "I am excited to be a part of such a close knit competitive team. I look forward to challenging myself and learning new techniques and skills to better my game!"

Madison is looking to earn her associates degree in psychology/criminology during her time at Sussex.

On behalf the Sussex Women's soccer program and the entire athletic department we would like to welcome Madison to the family.
