Kellenberger commits to Sussex

Taige Kellenberger of Sparta High School has committed to play soccer for Sussex during the fall 2021 season. Taige was a captain this past year for the Spartans and also was voted top defender for the week in the North Jersey Athletic Conference. Along with this Taige also made second team in the North Jersey Athletic Conference. Coach Vernacchio has been excited with the new addition stating, "Taige is a tremendous goalkeeper who I think is going to do very well here. Talking with Taige, I was amazed by how prepared she was for our call and asking important questions that I don't always hear from recruits. After our talks, I knew she would be a perfect fit for our program. She is an intelligent and passionate person who I believe is going to help elevate our program this coming fall. This 2021 class is going to be very exciting to watch on the field and I can't wait to have Taige be a part of it."

When Taige was asked what she is most looking forward to she said, "I am most looking forward to meeting new people and playing the sport I love." The passion Taige puts into playing the game she loves has certainly propelled her in the right direction in her soccer career and is something Coach Vernacchio is looking forward to having a part of the program.

On behalf of the women's soccer program and the entire athletic department we want to welcome Taige Kellenberger to the family!
