Sussex Storms Past Mercer for Mental Health Game

The Sussex women's soccer team defeated Mercer County Community College in their annual Mental Health Awareness Game 11-1 on Friday.  Sussex was led by Blaise Vallorosi who scored a hat trick and provided 2 assists. Paula Herold, Jessenia Velez, and Sophie Taylor all added 2 goals apiece, and Jocelyn Mull scored 1 and assisted 2.  Assistant coach Mike Rath was pleased with the outcome. "I thought we executed our game plan extremely well and were able to have some really good combinations in the final third.  This game [Mental Health Awareness Game] is special to us, so I'm glad that we were able to get the result and also help our students at the same time."

Donations were collected at the game, as well as all other home games this week, for the SCCC Mental Health Relief Fund, which provides support for medical costs associated with treatment and evaluations related to mental health for students.

Next up for Sussex is an away trip to Brookdale to close out the regular season on Friday, May, 14.
