Sussex County Community College announces the addition of Wrestling to its Intercollegiate Athletic Program.  SCCC intends to compete in the sport of wrestling during the 2020-21 wrestling season.  Leading the Wrestling Skylanders will be newly hired Wrestling Recruiter and Head Coach Chris Burdge.  Chris is a former Kittatinny HS and Centenary University standout wrestler and was a 2010 NJ State High School place winner.  During his career at Centenary University, he was a four-time NCAA Division III All American (2010-2014), two time NCAA Division III Scholar All American (2011-2014), and three year captain at Centenary.  Coach Burdge has been currently tasked with promoting SCCC wrestling and recruiting during the 2019-20 school year for SCCC's Wrestling Program, and then Chris will step into the Head Wrestling Coach role for the 2020-2021 season.   SCCC Athletic Director John Kuntz stated, " I believe that Chris has the knowledge, ability and enthusiasm to quickly lead our wrestling program to national prominence.  Chris has the experience as a wrestler and knows what it takes to be successful.  I  look forward to working with Chris and developing an elite SCCC Wrestling Program."
