Esports Update 2019

2019-2020 Esports season is off to a great start! We have over 30 student athletes participating in 4 games: Overwatch, League of Legends, Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, and Rocket League.

Trevor Washer has been leading the SCCC League of Legends team as Captain and mid-lane. Trevor's leadership and positive attitude have helped to build the foundation for the inaugural League of Legends team. The LoL team has been competing in the Collegiate Star League and faced teams such as Montclair State University and University of Delaware. In addition, they have played in various scrimmages against Union County College and Misericordia University. Though the League of Legends team has yet to nab their first victory, they have been holding their own against these established programs.

Likewise, Overwatch has participated in a victorious scrimmage against Hocking College. The Skylanders defeated Hocking College in a 4-0 series. In addition, the SCCC Overwatch team competed in a Collegiate Star League tournament and were defeated 2-1 against CUNY Baruch.

We are excited to continue building and expanding the Esports program.
