Bio

Coach Braxton joins Sussex for his first season as the Offensive Coordinator and Quarterbacks Coach. He takes charge of an explosive offensive unit that excelled in 2023, ranking in the top 10 of multiple offensive categories in the NJCAA.

Braxton is an accomplished and recognized leader in the football coaching world, earning the prestigious AFCA 35 Under 35 Leadership Award for 2021-2022. With a proven track record of excellence, Braxton has consistently built top-performing teams and developed standout athletes throughout his career.

In 2023, Braxton served as the Offensive Coordinator and Program Consultant at Fivay High School in Hudson, FL. During his tenure, he set a new school record for points scored in a single game (67) and helped double the team's win total from the previous season. Additionally, Braxton played a key role in training and mentoring assistant coaches, implementing professional and collegiate-level coaching procedures to elevate the program.

In 2022, Braxton served as the Running backs coach at Arkansas Tech University, where he developed an All-Conference running back and coordinated community service initiatives.

Before joining Arkansas Tech, Coach Braxton spent time at Itasca Community College, where he served as Head Coach and Offensive Coordinator from 2017 to 2021. During his tenure, he led the program to unprecedented success, securing the school's first-ever MCAC Championship and achieving the highest NJCAA ranking in school history (#2). In 2021, his offense ranked #1 in the NJCAA, averaging 450 yards and 38.5 points per game. Braxton's teams also topped the NJCAA in rushing yards, total touchdowns, and sacks. Prior to becoming Head Coach, Braxton served as Itasca's Offensive Coordinator from 2013-2017 and as Running Backs Coach in 2012.
 

Braxton holds a Bachelor of Arts in History and Political Science from Arkansas Tech University and a Master of Science in Sport Administration from Liberty University.
