Carfello excited to win at Sussex

As the Sussex Mens' Lacrosse program enters it's third NJCAA season, it's banking on an athletic defense, outstanding goalie play, and something the team has sorely lacked prior to 2023....depth.

The addition of several newcomers will join an experienced returning roster hoping to get back to the NJCAA tournament for the second time in three seasons.

Enter Vernons' Jeremiah Carfello.

The NJ All Pooley Division and NJAC do-it-all midfielder is setting his sights on helping create a winning culture at Sussex.  A two-sport athlete and captain for both lacrosse and football programs at Vernon high school, the 5'11-185 lb two-way threat is excited to contribute any way he can.  "I'm ready to get after it." Carfello said. "There's some talented players here I'm familiar with. We're going to have some fun."

The 2022 Vikings Lacrosse MVP was also the president of the school's Anti Bullying Club.

"Those Vernon kids are always tough, scrappy players," said returning attack Jake Christiano. "From what we all saw from the fall tryout, he can absolutley play this game at a high level."

The 'Landers freshman class will be highlighted throughout the off-season leading up to their first game of 2023, a Region XIX contest with national power Nassau.
