The 'Landers Handle Union

Sussex ended their regular season upending Union 19-0 at home.

It was the first shutout in program history as freshman goalie Liam MacClugage came up with 6 saves.  Sussex also set school records with 15 assisted tallies on the afternoon, and most goals scored in a game.

Nate Melnick, Luke Wilson, Jeremiah Carfello, and Alex Husenjnovic were all credited with "hat tricks". Midfielder Cody Cooper led all scorers with 2 goals and 5 assists, while Jayden Ortiz, Lou Merlino, and Chase Geer all scored their first goals of the year.

Two of the biggest goals scored today were by Newton's very own, Trevor "TC" Christ, who is a 2022 Newton High School graduate and alumni of the Newton Brave Lacrosse program.

Sussex will travel to Nassau Community College in Long Island to take on Mercer County Community College in the first round of the Region 19 playoffs Friday April 28th.
