The Sussex men's soccer team lost a tough one at home against Mercer County Community College on Tuesday. Coach Vernacchio said, "I am proud of the boys and how they fought in the game. Mercer is a top program at the Division I level and when you make mistakes against top teams they can punish you for them. Games like these allow us the opportunity to grow and develop as we move closer to the playoffs." Will Frye had the only goal for the Sussex Skylanders. Coach Vernacchio was full of praise for the goal scorer. "Will has been a great part of our team this year. I have asked him to play a few different positions and he has done very well at transitioning into them. I am excited to see him develop not only this year, but into next year as well."
Next up for the Skylanders is Rowan College at Glouscester County. A win verses Glouscester will clinch a spot for the Skylanders into the playoffs.
