O'Connor committs to Sussex

Darcy O'Connor, from Victoria, Australia, has committed to the Sussex Men's Soccer program. The 6'2" center back will add a wealth of knowledge and experience to the Sussex squad. Coach Vernacchio is excited with the new addition saying, "We are thrilled to have Darcy joining our family here at Sussex. It has truly been great getting to know him and his family over these last couple of weeks. Darcy has a bright future and I am eager to work with him over the next two years."

Darcy will be joining a Sussex defense who did not let in a goal throughout the regional playoffs this past season. Coach Vernacchio added, "There were two things that stuck out the most about Darcy. The first was his confidence. You could see his confidence with how he was defending and leading the back line and that is something I am certainly looking forward to watching him develop. The second is his willingness to want to grow. He is a player who I know will take advantage of this opportunity and someone that will add to the culture of our team, as well as our college."
