Sussex Men Tie Cumberland

The Sussex Men's Soccer team faced off Saturday against Rowan College South Jersey - Cumberland. In this heated battle, Sussex would let in a goal early on to go down 1-0. Coach Vernacchio said, "The game started off very strong. They caught us sleeping early on but we never felt like it wasn't anything we couldn't come back from." The game would go back and forth with chances throughout the first and second half until Keiran Oullettee would tie it up for the Skylanders late in the game. Vernacchio said "You could just feel that it was only a matter of time before we would score. We had most of the posession, we were winninng the midfield and finally had an opportunity to put one away." Overtime had its moments as well.  Vernacchio would end saying, "it was a great game for both teams. Our boys played with a lot of grit, and to go on the road almost three hours away and play the way we did was a testament to this group. I keep saying how special this group is and it is great to see them continuing to progress in the way that they are."

Sussex will take on Camden County Community College at home Tuesday September 17th. It will be a 4pm kick off.
