Sussex Falls to nationally ranked Camden 2-1

In a game that had chances for both teams to take the game into their own hands, Camden (7) would be the one to take adavantage. With the game tied 1-1 going into the second half, Camden would find the back of the net with 20 minutes left to play. Sussex would fight back, creating a few opportunities to tie it up, but would fall short in this intense battle. Coach Vernachio said "when you give a team too much respect, you lose sight of what makes your team successful. We played a little bit to conservative in the beginning, but found our stride as the game went on. I truly felt like we were going to be able to tie the game up, but unfortunatly this time we fell short." When asked how Coach Vernacchio felt about being 2-2-2 early on in the season Vernacchio responded by saying "Our schedule is very tough and to be where we are isn't the worst situation; we have been there before. We have played a lot of good teams and no matter how you start, it only matters where you are come October. Building momentum later on in the year, especially towards the playoffs, is essential. We have faced our fair share of adversity, but like I keep saying, this group is special. They have fought back from greater odds and I can tell you when it comes together there isn't a team out there we can't beat.''

Sussex will face off in a double header that will feature both our Men's and Women's team Thursday, October 19th. The Men's team plays at 2pm followed by the Women at 4pm.
