Casimir Commits to Sussex

Wesley Casimir from Perth, Australia has committed to play for Sussex men's soccer program for the Fall 2021. Growing up in the Northern suburbs of Perth, He started playing for local NPL clubs such as ECU Joondalup and Sorrento FC. Recently, however, he moved to Bayswater Soccer Club where in 2019 they won the NPL U20's competition.

Coach Vernacchio is excited about Wesley joining the program stating, "I believe Wes has a few things that will help his time here at Sussex to be successful. He is an intelligent player with a tremendous work ethic. He is dangerous in the attack and is someone who can create something out of nothing. I am looking forward to coaching him and the impact he will have on our program."

When asking Wesley what he is most looking forward to at Sussex, Casimir said, "At Sussex, I am most looking forward to competing for a National Championship with the team. I enjoy playing football but I play to win, if I can help bring silverware to the campus I would say my stretch at the college would be a successful one. Other than that, I am excited to meet new people and experience what is like to live in America."

Wesley is looking to study Exercise Science during his time at Sussex.

On behalf of the Sussex Soccer family and the entire athletic department we would like to welcome Wesley to the family!
