Cramp Scores Game Winner

The Sussex men's soccer team had a tough contest against Middlesex County Community College on Wednesday. Middlesex came out strong early on and went up 1-0 in the first half to put Sussex behind early, the first time Sussex has trailed in a game so far this season. The Sussex men came out strong in the second half with Keiran Ouellette scoring a goal to tie the game up. As the second half continued, Sussex would create more opportunities but couldn't put any of them away. With under 10 minutes left in the game, Jasper Cramp was fouled inside the penalty area and then he converted from the spot to give Sussex the lead, and ultimately the win. Coach Vernacchio said, "The last two games have not been our best soccer but the boys continue to be resilient and find a way. I was proud of how they responded in the second half and more importantly the opportunities they started to create. This group is special, with the games we have left we are certainly looking to tighten up how we play and of course be more consistent. Games are always the best teacher and we will look to use the rest of our games to learn from and be better."

The Sussex men will once again travel away on Tuesday May 4th to Camden County College where they will face off against the Cougars. Kick off is scheduled for 3:00pm
