Jope Commits to Sussex

The Sussex Soccer program is excited to announce the signing of Rafael Jope to the Fall 2025 Men's Soccer Team.  Jope (Leipzig, Germany) excels at right back but can also play further in attack.  Head coach Mike Rath is delighted with the signing, saying, "Rafael is an attack minded right back who will work well with our style of play.  He will add another dimension to our game model and will provide a different dynamic than other players in that position bring.  When playing against low blocks and teams looking to counter attack, he will be valuable for us to create scoring opportunities and counter press.  I'm really excited to see what he brings when he starts working with the team this fall."

Jope joins the current recruiting class of Dominick Florez, Brayden Primavera, Josh Gordon, and Lawson Carr for the 2025 season.
