Bats were on fire as sophomore first basemen Nicole Matlock went 4 for 4 with 2 doubles and her first collegiate homerun. She had 3 RBI's and 3 runs across the plate herself. Freshman Madison Stires also added to the mix going 3 for 5 in the leadoff spot with 2 doubles. Taylor Thieme, Amanda Ross and Rebecca Riley also went 3 for 4 in the first game. Left fielder Kathryn Szatkiewicz also added her first collegiate homerun to the score. Rebecca Riley took the win on the mound with a score of 11 - 7.
In the close loss in the double header on the day, Nicole Matlock continued to bust open her bat going 2 for 4 with 2 doubles that both hit the fence. She also added 3 RBI's along with Amanda Maxwell's 2 RBI's. Maxwell also went 2-4 in the second game.
