Sussex Comes Close Against #1 Ranked Team

The Skylanders started on their heels, digging themselves into a bit of a hole in the first quarter - down 9 to 24. Coming into the second, with a surge of tenacious energy led by the captains (Keeley McGregor and Brielle Hilbert), the Skylanders fought hard for the next 3 quarters, bringing the game back to as close as 4 points in the 4th. The game was heated; the crowd was wild; the fouls were flying; and the score was bouncing back and forth. Although they fell short, 54 - 64, the women battled relentlessly and put up a remarkable fight. Brielle Hilbert led the Skylanders with 27 points, 22 of those in the second half, and she had 7 assists and 4 steals. Keeley McGregor put forth a solid 17 points and Brenley Knakkagaard chipped in 7 with 10 rebounds. Hannah Delbury once again played excellent defense; she grabbed 10 boards, blocked 3 shots, and had 3 steals.
