Sussex Grabs a Great Win on Sophomore Night

SCCC Women's Basketball celebrated their four sophomores with much love on February 13th. Grace Thuen, Emily Vernoski, Brielle Hilbert and Keeley McGregor all started for the Skylanders to lead them into an amazing win vs. higher ranked Northampton.

Down at half, the Skylanders rallied together and led a strong comeback to take the victory, winning 53 to 45. Together they played great defense, holding thier opponent to 15 points in the second half. Brielle Hilbert led with 18 points. Keeley McGregor added 15 points, 8 rebounds and 3 assists. Brenley Knakkagaard and Hannah Delbury each chipped in 10 points; Brenley grabbed 11 boards and had 4 assists, and Hannah had a great defensive game, with 15 rebounds. Emily Vernoski put forth a tough sophomore night performance, having 8 key rebounds, 3 assists and 1 block. What a great team performance by the women and solid win.

The Skylanders will finish out their regular season away at Ocean on Saturday at 12, and then they prepare for playoffs!
