Women's Basketball Preview - Skylanders Ready for Action

The Sussex Women's Basketball team looked strong in their scrimmages these past two weeks.

The women finished out preseason with confidence and incredible resilence to adversity, and are ready and excited to open the 2018-19 season tomorrow vs. RCGC in Sewell, NJ (1 p.m. start). Last year, the women not only broke, but more than doubled the college's previous wins record, and Coach Gaffney has high hopes for another record setting year.

Hannah Delbury (5'11" Center; Wantage, NJ), sole and strong returner from last season, is leading the team through her experience and contagious energy. The rest of the Skylander team may be new to SCCC, but they are not new to basketball, and nothing short of talented.

Together, powerhouse point guard Phoebe Livingston (5'2"; Stillwater, NJ) and tenacious shooting guard Alyssa Aragona (5'7"; Matamoras, PA) pack quite the punch. Backed in the frontcourt by dynamic power forward Casey Langenbach (5'10"; Branchville, NJ), stretch four Sydney Tantleff (5'7"; Frelinghuysen, NJ), and the fearless  Aniya Montgomery (5'9" Forward; Bronx, NY), the team looks solid. Sophomore Alina Hoxha (5'8" Forward; Tirania, Albania) completes the Sussex squad with her spirited energy, that is matched by each and every player. 

The women invite you to join and support them this season - their home opener is this Thursday, Nov. 15 against Luzerne at 5 p.m. The next two home games before Thanksgiving are:

Sat. Nov 17 vs. Harrisburg Area CC @ 1 p.m.

Tues. Nov. 20 vs. Passaic CCC @ 5 p.m.
