Sussex Women fall to #2 Ocean in Play-Offs

The Sussex Women's Basketball team battled hard against #2 seeded Ocean on Saturday, hoping to make the cut.

In their third successive year making a play-off run, the women's team was hungry. They fought, keeping it close, but unfortunately, the women just could not overcome powerhouse Ocean and fell 69-60. 

Alyssa Aragona led for the Skylanders with 25 points and 16 rebounds. Alyssa had a fantastic career at Sussex, passing the mile markers of one thousand points and 500 rebounds in her two years.

Madison Mailloux put forth a strong defensive effort on Saturday, helping her team keep Ocean off the boards. She added 10 points, 4 blocks and 7 rebounds for Sussex.

The Skylander team ended their season in a united, well-rounded effort: Lana Varcadipane added 11 points, Phoebe H. Livingston 9 points, 6 assists, Jeyleen Joaquin 5 points, Sydney Tantleff 7 boards.

Although the women's season has come to a close, Coaches Gaffney and Bartell could not be prouder of the Skylanders' fight!
