Sussex Wrestling Releases Full 2022-23 Schedule

3 Open Tournaments, 1 scrimmage, and 9 Dual meets will keep your Skylanders competing through February as the prepare for the National Tournament in March.

The Sussex Skylanders season will begin at 9am on Sunday November 6th as they compete in the 55th Annual East Stroudsburg Open.  The team will then head to Centenary University for a scrimmage on Wednesday November 16th. Before a road trip out Friday the 18th to stay overnight to compete in the Shorty Hitchcock Memorial Open at Millersville University on Saturday November 19th.   Both of these first open tournaments include top wrestlers and schools from NCAA Divisons I,II,III,& NJCAA. This type of event allows Sussex wrestlers to go toe to toe with the best competiton on the east coast regardless of their divison.  Sussex wrestlers compete this way to not only ensure improvement but also gain exposure.  Finally they have their last open tournament on December 4th, The Bob Quade Memorial at Centenary University.

Sussex will then begin the duel meet portion of their season on December 10th at Camden County College in a Tri match with Camden and Union County College.  On December 22nd Sussex competes against RCSJ - Gloucester and Union College.   

After the Holidays, January starts the new year and the second semester, Sussex spends their weekends in Janurary battling Middlesex Collge, Bergan College and Union College.

Sussex scheudles and wrestles each college in New Jersey that competes for the Garden State Athetic Confernence(GSAC).  The top teams by record are invited to the Confernce Championships on February 4th and 5th to compete for a GSAC Team Championship.

Sussex will wrestle Keystone College and Elmira College to round out their regular-season shedule at 6pm on Friday Feburary 10th at Keystone.

Postseason action will begin with the NJCAA Region 19 Tourmant February 18th.  This is where Sussex wrestlers will be looking to punch their ticket to Nationals.

National Qualifers will be traveling to the Mid America Center in Councl Bluffs, Iowa for the NJCAA National Tournament.  Sussex will look to bring home the schools first ALL-American!
