Sussex Men's Basketball Defeats SUNY Ulster 87-86

The Sussex County Men's Basketball team defeated SUNY Ulster 87-86 on Saturday afternoon.  The game was close throughout the afternoon with Sussex leading 41-39 at halftime.  SUNY Ulster made 9 three pointers throughout the game,  Kofi Mends led SUNY Ulster with 25 points.  Sussex was led by Christian Archer who tossed in 24 points.  Jesus Romero added 18 points and David  Forzani scored 17 points.  Nate Aklilu also hit double digits scoring 11 points.  PJ Ross chipped in with 9 points, Jalil Golden added 6 points, and Keenan Iseli came off the bench for valuable minutes. 

The Sussex Skylanders were down 64-53 with 12 minutes to play.  It was a team effort to chip away at the deficit.  Sussex trailed 86-83 with 1 minute to play.  Sussex scored the winning basket with an offensive rebound and tip-in at the buzzer for a final of 87-86.  Sussex improves to 8-5 overall.  The team will be on the road at Lehigh Carbon Community College on Tuesday night at 7:00 p.m.
